CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College women’s basketball sophomore Nene Ndiaye will play on Team Senegal Aug. 19-25 for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026 Pre-Qualifying Tournaments. The first game is on Monday at 11 a.m. EST against Hungary.
Ndiaye is coming off a solid freshman season, where she appeared in 30 of 33 games with one start. She posted a career-high 10 points with five rebounds against No. 16 Louisville in a career-high 24 minutes on the road
The forward shot a solid 82.9 percent from the charity stripe, hitting 29 of her 35 attempts.
Senegal was placed in Group C with Brazil, Hungary and the Philippines. Group C has been named the “Group of Death”, as it features three teams ranked in the top 30. All games will be streamed on FIBA’s Youtube Channel.

Group B: Mexico, Montenegro, New Zealand, Mozambique
Group C: Brazil, Hungary, Senegal, Philippines

– Senegal began Pool Play with a narrow win over Hungary in the first game of the pre-qualifying tournament. Hungary came in as one of the favorites.
– Ndiaye chipped in with six points in 18 minutes.
– The sophomore hit a pair of 3-pointers in the first half, giving her team a 13-10 lead in the opening frame and later extending Senegal’s lead to nine in the second period, forcing Hungary to call a timeout.
– Senegal returns to action tomorrow at 2 p.m. local time against Brazil.
