Two Boston sports mainstays exit stage as Celtics, Bruins make title pushes

Must Read

It’s a bittersweet time for both the Celtics and the Bruins right now.

On one hand, life is good on the court and the ice. Both teams will be in the playoffs starting this weekend.

But they’re both also saying goodbye to two beloved members of their franchises as their play-by-play announcers Mike Gorman, who called Celtics games for 43 years, and Jack Edwards, who has been the voice of the Bruins since 2005, exit the broadcast booth.

Joining Radio Boston to discuss this moment for teams is Abby Chin, Celtics reporter for NBC Sports Boston, and Kevin Paul DuPont, Boston Globe senior staff writer and columnist, who follows the Bruins.

This segment aired on April 19, 2024. Audio will be available soon.
