Susie Wiles was named as President-elect Donald Trump’s White House chief of staff on Friday, his campaign announced. The 67-year-old’s appointment is Trump’s first major decision after being elected. He said: “Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history. Susie is tough, smart, innovative, and is universally admired and respected. Susie will continue to work tirelessly to Make America Great Again”.
“It is a well deserved honour to have Susie as the first-ever female Chief of Staff in United States history. I have no doubt that she will make our country proud,” Trump said in his statement.

The White House Chief of Staff, one of the president’s closest advisors, is involved in coordination between the president and executive departments. Wiles will also oversee staff in the role.
