BLACKSBURG, Va.— The Boston College Softball program dropped game one of the three game series against No.16 Virginia Tech. The game closed in six innings, 12-2.
No. 16 Virginia Tech was the first to strike taking an early 1-0 lead. The Eagles responded quickly in the second, with runners on second and third. Gator Robinson reached first on a fielding error bringing a runner through home plate. With the next batter up, Robinson allowed Emma Jackson to add one to the board while stealing. The Eagles captured the lead 2-1.
The Hokies answered in the bottom of the second adding on two runs, leaving the score 3-2, Tech. Both teams remained locked going in the fifth inning. The Hokies added six runs in the bottom of the fifth, and three in the sixth to close out the game.
The Eagles will turn around for game two against the Hokies tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
