After McAloon’s Liquor Store lost around a quarter of a million dollars in inventory, members of the public helped clean up the store.
North Andover police are asking for the public’s help identifying who may have destroyed hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of inventory at a local liquor store over the weekend.
Bill Buco, owner of McAloon’s Liquors, says he walked into his store Sunday morning to a scene of total chaos.
“Someone in their brilliant mind decided to come in last night and decided to trash the store, for what reason I don’t know,” Buco said in a video posted to Facebook. Hundreds of bottles could be seen strewn across the floor. Buco told WCVB that he lost about a quarter of million dollars in inventory. Nothing was stolen.
The North Andover Police Department reposted the video, asking for help finding the suspects.
After hearing about the vandalism, dozens of locals came to the store to help Buco clean up.
In a video afterwards, Buco thanked the public.
“There’s so much love in this community,” he said. “My phone’s been ringing off the hook… people are coming in with brooms, mops… as bad as this was, the beauty of what I’m seeing now buries what happened.”
