JetBlue plans to open its first two airport lounges in late 2025, one at New York JFK and the other at Boston Logan.
The lounges are part of the carrier’s JetForward strategy to return JetBlue to sustainable profitability, and the addition of premium products is a substantial part of that plan.
The JFK lounge is expected to open first. It will be located in Terminal 5 and measure 8,000 square feet. The Boston lounge is slated to open soon after and will measure 11,000 square feet. It will be located in the airport’s Terminal C.
The lounges will offer free food and beverages, including a full bar with complimentary alcoholic drinks. Barista-made coffee will be served. The lounge also will offer private work spaces, JetBlue said.
Lounges will provide a new selling point for the TrueBlue loyalty program and for JetBlue’s co-branded credit cards. Access will be complimentary for customers with TrueBlue Mosaic 4 status, JetBlue’s highest status level. One traveling companion will receive complimentary access, as well.
Transatlantic flyers sitting in the Mint business-class cabin also will get free lounge access, as will holders of the premium credit card that JetBlue plans to unveil soon.
In addition, the airline will sell an annual lounge pass. Day passes will be sold based on availability.
The airline said it will provide more details on lounge access policy at a later date.
“Lounges have become an
essential offering for the growing numbers of customers seeking premium
experiences, and JetBlue’s lounges will further boost the value of our TrueBlue
loyalty program as we expand our portfolio of JetBlue credit cards,” JetBlue president
Marty St. George said.
