On Saturday, the Boston Celtics passed a major test as they mauled the Miami Heat in Game 3 at the Kaseya Center. Tonight, the top seed in the East will look to move within a win of moving on to the second round for the seventh time in their last eight playoff appearances as the two teams tangle in Game 4 (7:30 pm ET, TNT).
In Game 2, the Celtics threw away the advantage they had earned with a resounding Game 1 win, as the Heat claimed a 111-101 win at TD Garden.
That put Boston in an unenviable position heading into Game 3 in Miami. But instead of wilting, they delivered. The Celtics held the Heat to 12 first-quarter points, blew the game open with a 42-point second quarter, and never trailed in a 104-84 rout.
Now comes the hard part. Will they produce another winning performance to take a 3-1 lead, or will they fail to make the most of another advantageous position?

With a 2-1 lead, Boston is in a strong position in the series, as nearly 80% of teams who historically held such an advantage went on to win their series, including 78.8% of teams with a 2-1 lead in a best-of-seven series.
But the Heat have had their backs against the wall on many an occasion recently and responded strongly. Will tonight be the latest example of their resilience and stubbornness?

Boston Celtics vs Miami Heat Betting Analysis
Through each of the first three games of this series, misplaced confidence has been the name of the game.
In Game 1, I thought that the Heat would put up more of a fight than they did in 114-94 loss.
In Game 2, I thought that the Celtics would build off of their big-time performance in the opener. Then they gave up 23 three-pointers and lost by double digits.
In Game 3, I thought that the Heat would compete even if they lost. Then they shot 5 of 21 (23.8%) in the first quarter and trailed by as many as 29 points in a 20-point loss.
Will we make it 4 for 4 in getting it wrong?
For the season, the Heat are 7-6 SU and ATS in games following a loss of 15+ points, but they are 4-0 SU and ATS in the last four such instances.
The Celtics, meanwhile, are 24-7 SU and 17-13-1 in games following a win of 15+ points, including 8-2 SU and 6-4 in the last ten such instances.
If you have followed the NBA over the last few seasons, you will have seen the Heat respond in adverse situations numerous times.
So, if you believe the Heat can compete in these spots, this is no time to give up on them.
Similarly, if you believe in the Celtics, continue to do so, if perhaps cautiously. There have been no close games in the series thus far, and given Boston’s advantages, they should theoretically continue that trend.
While Miami did lay an egg in Game 3, their response to their Game 1 loss is a compelling reason to feel confident that the Heat will, at the very least, make the Celtics work hard for their 3-1 lead.
Boston Celtics vs Miami Heat Prediction & Best Bets
Celtics vs Heat Prediction: Celtics to win
Celtics vs Heat Best Bets: 1) Heat +10.5, 2) Celtics/Heat over 203.5, 3) Bam Adebayo over 19.5 points (-110 at Bovada) & over 29.5 points + rebounds (-115 at Bovada)
The over is just 4-7 this season when the Heat have been a home underdog. However, the Celtics have not had consecutive unders in more than a month and a half.
As for Adebayo, he posted a third straight 20-point game on Saturday, and he went over 29.5 points + rebounds in each of the first two games before coming up a point or rebound short in Game 3.
