Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown was candid after missing out on a major honor he achieved last year.
The 27-year-old failed to make any All-NBA Team this year despite the Celtics winning a league-best 64 games this season.
“I mean, we’re two games away from the Finals, so honestly I don’t have the time to give a f**k,” Brown said during the post-game conference of Game 2 of their Eastern Conference Finals series against the Indiana Pacers on Thursday, May 23.
Brown was able to make the All-NBA Second Team in 2022-23. Despite missing out on All-NBA honors this year, the 6-foot-6 wing appeared in his third NBA All-Star Game last February.
“I watch guys get praised and anointed who I feel like are half as talented as me on either side of the ball. But at this point in my life I just embrace it. It comes with being who I am and what I stand for and I ain’t really changing that,” the Atlanta native added.
Jaylen Brown delivers big as Celtics take 2-0 lead vs Pacers
Brown may have turned his frustration into power. He delivered a huge game during the Celtics’ Game 2 win against the Pacers at home at the TD Garden, propelling them to a 2-0 series lead.
The former California Golden Bears player tied his playoff career-high by scoring 40 points on 14-of-27 shooting from the field and 4-of-10 from three. He also went 8-of-11 from the free-throw line.
Brown added five rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 37 minutes of play.
