The Boston Celtics are celebrating their record-setting 18th NBA championship in one of the biggest party cities in the world.

The team is reportedly heading to Miami tomorrow, June 18, at noon after winning the 2024 NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks in five games.

This plan was revealed in a message on the team’s whiteboard inside their locker room, which read “NOON FLT TO MIAMI,” and confirmed by several team reporters.

The team will party in Miami for a few days and is expected to be back in Boston by Friday, June 21, for their championship parade, according to Boston Globe reporter Gary Washburn.

The Celtics will head to rival Heat’s city

The Celtics will be heading to Miami, notably the home of the Miami Heat, arguably their biggest playoff rival in recent years.

The two teams have met in the playoffs four times in the last five years, including the last three. They clashed in the Eastern Conference Finals in 2020, 2022, and 2023, with the last two series extending to seven games.

The Heat won the East in 2020 and 2023, while the Celtics won in 2022. However, both teams lost their subsequent Finals series on all three occasions.

They also faced each other in the first round this year, with the Celtics winning in five games.
