The Boston Celtics are 2-0 up against the Dallas Mavericks in the 2024 NBA Finals. They won both of the games played in Massachusetts, but this coming Wednesday, the series is moving to Texas. The Mavs are famously good on home turf, although the last time they played against the Celts, they ended up losing. Will it be different this time around?

Dallas Mavericks Putting Their Hopes in Doncic
Luka Doncic has been brilliant since the start of the postseason, scoring 30+ points in seven of his last 10 games. He went 30+ in the two games with the Celtics as well, recording a triple-double on Sunday evening. In fact, he scored more points than any other player on the field in the two games of the 2024 Finals.
Doncic has been sensational, but his teammates have not. In the previous game, Dallas’s second-best scorer P.J. Washington scored 15 points fewer than him. Further, Kyrie Irving scored 16 points fewer than Doncic. These guys definitely need to up their games on Wednesday. Luckily for them, they’ll have their fans to support them from the stands.
Can Boston Celtics Make it 3-0 in the Finals
The key behind Boston’s success in the 2024 postseason is that they’ve been playing great as a collective. Team spirit is high among the Celtics, which is kind of surprising given that they have so much individual talent on the roster.
Jayson Tatum is their biggest start, but this guy hasn’t been selfish on the court as you could expect from a player of such a high profile. Sure, scoring is his speciality, but this guy’s been doing so many jobs in order to ensure the Celts’ play goes smoothly.
It’s been pretty much the same case when it comes to Jrue Holiday, Jalen Brown, Derrick White, and others.
Dallas Mavericks vs. Boston Celtics Game 3 Prediction
If the Mavericks lose the game on Wednesday, it’s almost certain that the series is lost for them. They probably won’t be able to recover from going 3-0 down. But will they go 3-0 down? We think they will. The thing is that the Celtics look really good in all aspects of play, which isn’t the case with the Mavs who have turned into a Luka Doncic one-man army.
