CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College women’s basketball put forth a dominant showing in a 102-58 win over Sacred Heart on Thursday evening in Conte Forum.
The Eagles are 2-0 for the first time since the 2021-22 campaign, and the Pioneers fall to 1-1.
It was a stingy defensive performance for Boston College, forcing SHU into 26 turnovers into an impressive 37 points. Nine players recorded a steal led by Andrea Daley with five and Dontavia Waggoner with four. Tatum Greene collected three swipes as well.
All 11 players who entered the game found the scoring column while five players registered double figures. Daley netted a game-high 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting with eight rebounds.
T’yana Todd shot an efficient 6-for-9 en route to 17 points with four boards while Waggoner totaled 15 points and four off the glass. Teya Sidberry scored 11 points off the bench with seven rebounds and three helpers. Greene netted 10 points with four rebounds, and was a team-high plus-37 in just 20 minutes.
Kaylah Ivey turned in a solid stat line, dishing out a team-high nine assists with nine points and just one turnover in 22 minutes.
Despite shooting under 40 percent from the field in the first quarter, Boston College held a 23-15 lead going into the second. BC took advantage at the line shooting 7-of-8 and forcing Sacred Heart into seven turnovers for eight points. Waggoner’s two free throws with seven seconds left in the first answered a SHU layup.
BC turned it up a notch in the second, outscoring the visitors 34-12. The Eagles hit 11 of their first 12 shots in the frame with six different players scoring during the surge that ballooned what was a nine-point lead to 28.
Todd’s trifecta with under a minute left in the half sent the Eagles into the break with a commanding 57-27 lead.
The hosts cruised the rest of the way, hitting the century mark off a Greene putback with 55 seconds left in the contest. It’s the most points scored since the 2019-20 season when BC scored 109 against Delaware State.
The Eagles dished out 25 assists on 37 field goals, shot 9-of-14 from deep and 50 percent from the floor.
BC returns to action on Monday against Northeastern at 2 p.m. in Conte Forum.
