Hundreds of passengers were on the two flights when the American Airlines plane clipped the tip of a wing on a Frontier plane but luckily no injuries were reported
Two planes clipped wings on the tarmac at the Boston Logan International Airport on Monday.
An American Airlines plane clipped the tip of a wing on a Frontier Airlines plane at the airport’s Terminal E. According to a spokesperson from Frontier Airlines, the affected flight was en route to Dallas.
“There were 200 passengers on board at the time of the incident. No injuries were reported among passengers or crew on the Frontier aircraft,” Frontier Airlines said in a statement.
The other plane involved was an American Airlines flight arriving to Boston from London’s Heathrow Airport, the airline told USA TODAY.
“While pulling into its gate at Boston (BOS), American Airlines flight 109 … made contact with a nearby parked aircraft. There were no reported injuries, and customers deplaned the aircraft shortly after,” American Airlines said in a statement. “The aircraft has been removed from service for inspection by our maintenance team. We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience this caused.”
Massport, which manages and owns Boston Logan, confirmed to USA TODAY that no injuries were reported.
“This incident was minor and occurred at a slow rate of speed,” Massport said.
