BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — It’s safe to say Logan Airport did not see many empty seats on the tarmac this year.
Over 43 million passengers flew through the airport in 2024, breaking the previous record of 42.5 million in 2019— a statistic from before the pandemic.
Logan celebrated the achievement with an event in the newly renovated Terminal E, offering the 43 millionth passenger special deal. Reagan Berry of Boston received free flights from Delta Air Lines.
Massport, the company that owns Logan, calls itself “officially back” from the pandemic downturn, serviced new destinations this year like Porto and Funchal, Portugal, and Abu Dhabi.
“It is essential that we manage our growth, and continue to work alongside our neighboring communities, and reduce our emissions to promote a more sustainable future,” said Massport CEO Rich Davey.
