Over the weekend, Boston became the latest city to host a celebrity look-alike contest, a viral social media trend that has lead to contests all around the world.

On Sunday, 200+ Boston locals gathered on the Boston Common to find the city’s closest resemblance to Tom Holland. The contest comes after weeks of various Tom Holland sightings around Boston.

In addition to physical similarity, the ten contestants were judged on dance skills, an impression of the actor and Spiderman knowledge, in honor of Holland’s most well-known role. A winner was chosen based on the loudness of cheers from the crowd.

Who won Boston’s Tom Holland look-alike contest?

Nick Anderson, a 26 year old from Melrose, won first place in the contest. In his acceptance speech, Anderson said he has been compared to Holland since high school.

The software company executive won $50 and a bag of British candy as his prize.

Tom Holland sightings in Boston

Holland has been in Boston for the past few weeks while his longtime girlfriend Zendaya films her new movie “The Drama” with Robert Pattinson. Unfortunately, Holland did not make an appearance at his lookalike contest, but he has been seen walking with Zendaya around Newbury St. and Back Bay.

Most recently, the actor visited the Campus School at Boston College, a special education day school for ages 3-22 located within the Lynch School of Education and Human Development. According to Boston College student newspaper The Heights, during Holland’s visit, he stopped in all six classrooms to talk to students, pose for photos and even sing in a music therapy session.

Boston College reported on X that the actor also recently donated $25k to the school through the The Brothers Trust, a nonprofit established by his parents in 2017.
