Over the course of his Hall of Fame career with the Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Brooklyn Nets, sentimentality was not exactly something that star forward Kevin Garnett was widely known for. In fact, when he was an active player, the Big Ticket was one of the most feared big men in the sport of basketball.
Yet his heart was on his sleeve when the Celtics elected to retire his jersey, his usually stoic or irked persona in his feelings in a truly touching way when the Boston faithful paid their respects to the all-time great forward after a tilt with the Dallas Mavericks at TD Garden. KG himself took some time to talk about that special day with former teammate and fellow Hall of Famer Paul Pierce on his “KG Certified” show on Showtime Basketball.
Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about Garnett’s big day.
