The Boston Celtics have booked a ticket to the 2024 NBA Finals, becoming the first team to do so while their Western Conference counterparts are still battling it out.

This feat has allowed Celtics point guard Jrue Holiday to add a bonus to his already hefty $36.8 million salary for this season.

Due to the Celtics making this year’s NBA Finals, Holiday will receive an additional $297,600, according to front office expert Bobby Marks of ESPN.

Regarded as one of the best defenders in the league, Holiday made his sixth All-Defensive Team this season, earning his third Second Team selection.

Holiday played for the Milwaukee Bucks last season and was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers as part of the blockbuster Damian Lillard deal, but he was sent to the Boston Celtics a few days later in a whirlwind offseason.

Jrue Holiday recently signed long-term contract extension with Celtics

The 33-year-old point guard recently inked a long-term deal to remain in Boston for the next few years.

The two-time NBA All-Star opted out of his $37.3 million player option for the 2024-2025 season in his current pact to sign the longer deal that will keep him with the team until the 2027-2028 season.

The four-year deal is worth $135 million and will pay Holiday less annually but secures his long-term future.
