On August 13th, 2009, 98.5 The Sports Hub hit the airwaves in Boston. Now, the Beasley Media Group station is planning to celebrate its 15th anniversary.
“For me, being with the station since day one, I have always felt proud and privileged to be a part of the Sports Hub team these past 15 years,” said station Program Director Rick Radzik. “We look forward to celebrating the milestone all next week on air and online with many stories and recollections from our on-air talent.”
The station says it is planning an “entire week” of content surrounding the anniversary, with “introspections both on-air, on it’s YouTube channel as well as on all social media platforms.”
Since its debut, 98.5 The Sports Hub has become the radio flagship for the Boston Bruins, Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, and New England Revolution.
“I am so proud of this amazing team, most of who have been here from the beginning, and have built and grown this amazing brand that is intrinsically intertwined with Boston sports history for the past 15 years,” said Mary Menna, Beasley Media Group Regional Vice President and Boston Market Manager.
During its 15-year history, the Beasley Media Group sports station has won the NAB Marconi Award for Sports Station of the Year in 2011, 2014, 2019, and 2023.
